Here we go again!
Now that most of us are level 80 it is time to explore the new heroic raid content Northrend has to offer. Starting with Naxxramas yesterday, we cleared the Arachnid Quarter easily.
When we proceeded to the Abomination Quarter, it seemed as if we hit a wall though. A big, blobby, gut spilling, 3-armed, rotting, walking corpse-wall. Patchwerk smashed through our plate and fur a bit harder than I and the others expected. He is after all still a gear check and it seems we need to do a little more gearing up before we can tackle him. That being said, it seems the rest of Naxxramas won't be "that" big of a challenge.

After patch 3.0 it became quite easy to get rid of the last 2 bosses. Not much to say about the council fight, it all went so fast! ;)
As for The Betrayer, well it took some tries mastering the constant repositioning of the MTs and the raid, but once we had that under control the DPS was overwhelming for poor Illy D. He died on the first night.

After a few tries that would have gone well with some Benny Hill music as people that had to run away in different directions ran alongside eachother ever so nicely while smiting eachother with horrible shadow energy of death.... we took her down on the 2nd night and claimed our very first T6 shoulders.
This was one of the easier fights in BT, but it was still exciting to take away her last 1% HP. Not so much because we downed her, but because we unlocked the way to the Illidari Council and are now very close to the Big Boss himself.

Ah I finally get to write something here again! And I get to do it from my lazy chair near the pool with a cocktail in my hand in Sri Lanka this time :) About 8500km from here, 25 raiders were hard at work apparently and the result is one dead RoS.

Oh my god, am I glad this is over! And I think I speak for everyone in the guild here. I said the same about Teron Gorefiend, but trying to get this one down proved to be a lot more frustrating. It took us 4 nights to get this done, although we were very close on the first night already (15%). After that try it took us a while and we had to do some repositioning.
Our last attempt on which we killed him was a very close one to say the least. At around 18% or so we lost 1 person so our healers had to get in overdrive to keep the raid alive long enough to get the last 8% off and they did. At the very end, just as our MT died, we all got saved by Tyrande's bubble and as the whisps came in to nuke his ass to hell, we knew we had cleared Mount Hyjal. |

Phew, I think we're all glad this is over. Fun fight though, but as expected it took a while for everyone to master the spirit killing (or to get lucky enough it only picked the ones that were capable of doing it already :p, we'll find out next week!).
But we did it and have decided to put the rest of BT on hold for now until we down Archimonde. I hope to be writing another kill post here very soon! ;) |
